In many communities around Arua, talent is everywhere.
On dusty fields and open playgrounds, young people run, compete, dream, and imagine a future bigger than their circumstances. But too often, that talent has nowhere to grow.
That is why Cloud-9 SC (Sports Club) exists.
As part of the Oszkar Apama’bo Anand Foundation, Cloud-9 SC is more than a football team or a sports program. It is a platform for discipline, mentorship, leadership, and opportunity — designed especially for marginalized youth aged 15–30 in Arua and surrounding communities.
Because when youth are given access, belief, and structure, they don’t just play — they rise.
Why Sports Matter in Youth Empowerment
In underserved communities, sports are often one of the few spaces where young people can freely express themselves. But without structured support, coaching, and mentorship, that potential can fade quickly.
Cloud-9 SC addresses more than athletic ability. It responds to the deeper challenges many youth face:
Limited employment opportunities
Lack of mentorship
Low confidence and direction
Social pressures that derail dreams
Through structured training and guided development, sports become a tool for:
Discipline
Teamwork
Leadership
Emotional resilience
Positive identity formation
Sports are not the end goal — they are the gateway to confidence and life direction.
What Cloud-9 SC Provide
Cloud-9 SC is part of the broader Cloud-9 Ecosystem under OAA Foundation’s Youth Empowerment pillar. The program is intentionally designed, not casual or recreational.
1. Structured Training & Coaching
Young players receive organized training sessions that focus on skill development, physical fitness, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
2. Talent Identification & Development
The club identifies promising athletes and helps them refine their abilities, preparing them for competitive exposure and higher-level opportunities.
3. Competitive Participation
Match exposure builds confidence and gives youth real platforms to demonstrate their abilities.
4. Mentorship Through Sports
Coaches and leaders go beyond the field — guiding players in life skills, responsibility, goal-setting, and personal growth.
The result is not just better athletes — but stronger young leaders.
More Than a Game
At Cloud-9 SC, sport becomes a classroom.
Players learn:
How to win with humility
How to lose with resilience
How to show up consistently
How to trust a team
How to lead with integrity
For many participants, the club becomes a place of belonging — a safe environment where their talent is seen, their effort is valued, and their future feels possible.
That is powerful.
